Rijksmuseum is under reconstruction. Public can see fragment of its collection in Phillips Wing. Well fragment is not nice word, maybe I should say the best of its collection.
Anyway optimists say that the reconstruction will be finished in 2010. Still some time to go. But... in these days there is a special event organised by Rijksmuseum. It is called Hard Hat Tours. Small group led by guides can pass through the building and see the progress of works. You get hard hat, vest and boots. Taking photos is not allowed (at least we believe so - we haven't asked but noone used their cameras inside) and the commentary is in Dutch, but we enjoyed it very much.
This tours are every Friday till the end of April.
